Glass Clay
I went to a workshop to learn how to use glass clay. We got a plain white or black tile and small packages of various colors of glass clay. The glass clay felt like wet sand and was not at all like regular clay so it took some getting used to. After it was applied to the tile, we squirted hair spray on the clay to adhere it to the tile.
Here are samples of student work loaded in the kiln ready to be fired.
My tile after firing. The color was amazing after firing compared to the how dull the clay was before firing.
Here is my second piece using a black tile.
A fun medium to learn and exciting to see the finished product after being fired in the kiln.
